Tinney's Irish Shop and Customer Interaction.
Tinney's Irish Shop is intent on building a Platform for Interaction. Part of this interaction is Buying and selling. We at Tinney’s Irish Shop realise that there are depths to this interaction. We understand the need for more detailed information and through the emails we receive we sense that people wish to be more involved. We believe you want to know more about the producer, especially if it is a small craft producer, the area they come from the ideas that lie behind the created product. It is a key idea in the whole Crafts concept.
Criteria for Product Choice
Although I studied Philosophy at Queens University Belfast, long long ago, it is nevertheless a daunting task to put our philosophy into a few lines. But let me try.
Tinney's Irish Shop is a platform primarily for Irish Craft Producers and Irish Products, though not exclusively so. Although we source first in Ireland there are non-irish producers and products which complement our collection (just as there are non-Irish drinks in an Irish Pub). Our criterion for choice of products are affordable quality, creativity and design which reflects a Christian world view.
We wish to present the products in a creative but not gaudy manner. You will find a range of Irish Knitwear, Aran Sweaters, Irish Traditional Folk Music CDs, Celtic Jewellery, Donegal Tweed amongst other things. Like our shops we wish our internet shop to bear the original stamp of a Tinney's Irish Shop namely that people, you, the craft producers, ourselves ... are what its about. Craftspeople meet you the customer on this site and through transaction we aim to serve both.
We seek through our Irish internet shop to represent Ireland on a cultural level, beyond borders and religious divisions.
we seek to build a platform for you the customer and Irish Craft Producers. The product must show originality of idea. The product must reach our Quality standards.
We want the best product for you. Here are the criteria of our Product choice The hand-made individuality of the product is definitely in the foreground, since that is what distinguishes it from mass produced Factory products. However though there may be small differences from product to product there must be a uniform quality.
The Irish Craft producer must ensure reliable delivery so that we can ensure you reliable delivery. The price-quality balance must be right. There should be an Irish-ness about the product. However that does not mean that every pullover or vase must have a shamrock on it. Indeed we wish to get beyond, if possible, the shamrocks and shillelaghs.
we seek to provide an efficient service. If you are unhappy about anything please let us know. We want to improve.
We represent Ireland. Our shops have always been little irish culture disseminators. People come into our shops who have never been to Ireland and love what they see. They learn something more about Ireland: the Irish peoples, the culture, the problems, the solutions, etc; etc;
We at Tinney’s Irish Shop seek Peace and Reconciliation in Ireland. I, Joseph, grew up in the troubles. I knew people who lost their lives. I know that dialogue is essential to understanding and understanding to forgiveness and reconciliation. I believe this process is an on-going process and may take generations to accomplish. But it is worth it!

We at Tinney’s Irish Shop seek Peace and Reconciliation in Ireland. I, Joseph, grew up in the troubles. I knew people who lost their lives. I know that dialogue is essential to understanding and understanding to forgiveness and reconciliation. I believe this process is an on-going process and may take generations to accomplish. But it is worth it!
