Tinney's Irish Shop carries a wide range of books of Irish Interest, Celtic Cards and Posters.
Irish Books and Posters contain a selection of Irish Interest items which I hope you will enjoy. I would love right now to launch into an extensive overview of Irish and Anglo Irish Literature, however my small collection does not take in the great stars in the Anglo-Irish Firmament. I still can't resist the temptation to mention the importance of the Irish in the world of English Literature. Here are a few names for you who being Irish left their indelible marks in the world of Literature.

From this list you will get, I hope, a small idea of how many great literary figures stem from Ireland. These Irishmen influenced whole movements in literature, e.g. James Joyce the modernist writing of the 20th Century, Samuel Beckett was key in the theatre of the absurd. Writers and Playwrights such as O'Casey and Synge had great influence in the Irish literary scene, writing as they did about themes touching Irish events and Pschology directly. W.B.Yeats and Seamus Heaney poets were/are Poets of genuis and Nobel Prize winners also.
But to our little collection of books and posters. These too have something special. I have included a series of little books from Appletree Press, these cover lots of things from the History of Aran Sweaters to Irish Baking, from the History of Ireland to the History of Tennis. They are concise and accurate and make excellent gifts. Then for Children I have some illustrated books of Irish Fairy Stories and Celtic Legends. We have a fascinating Celtic design Cards for many occasions such as Birthday, Christmas or Thank-you, often with the greetings in Irish. A small celtic Christian section covers the many wonderful Irish Blessings and stories from the lives of prominent Celtic Christians such as Maire Brennan formerly of Clannad. Last but not least have a look at the Irish Posters, there you will discover collages of Irish Life: Irish Cottages, Irish Music, Irish Castles and Irish Landscapes all have the collage form, but there are others such as the Irish Dresser.
